Researching meaningful connections for impact-driven entrepreneurs, and why we need them, I recently came across a TED Talk How to Skip the Small Talk and Connect With Anyone, by Kalina Silverman. #MakeBigTalk
Kalina accidentally started a movement called Big Talk – skip small talk, make meaningful connections. I loved the concept of connecting through meaningful conversations and I am interested to know if you had the opportunity to get behind a camera and ask strangers what would be the Big Talk question you would ask?
If you would like to be in the draw for the two tickets please enter the competition. I am asking you to pose your #BigTalk question on the SevenCanaries Facebook page, and the post with the most engagement by 2:00 pm this Friday 30 June will win the tickets.
Early in May I began collaborating with Moral Fairground to curate the speaker panel for The Monthly Network Events. Hosted at Exchange Workspaces, they’re held on the second Wednesday of every month, except August and October. You can see the schedule here. Different topics are covered each month.
The last two months the speakers started conversations for the audience to continue: Unseen Cost of Travel and Creating Healthy Workspaces. I know the audience members who attended each event really appreciated the speakers for their passion and generosity in time and knowledge.
July: Wednesday, July 12 @ Exchange WorkSpaces, we’ll be Celebrating Indigenous Enterprises and Collaborations.
The Panel facilitator is Jason King and the three speakers dedicated to supporting Indigenous communities and culture through their businesses are Julie Merlet (NATIF), Marc Williams (Deadly Design), and Matthew Everitt (Dreamtime Art).
We’ve also asked nutritionist Julie Merlet to share with you a selection of Indigenous herbs and spices she sells. She will explain the health, environmental, social and community benefits as well as giving you a sensory experience of these ingredients.
And GrumbleTumms will be supplying the nibbles for the evening.
On a personal note, I continue to work on my new project Cultivate and The Cultivate Collective, Mastermind groups that provide trusted and engaging peer-to-peer support for entrepreneurs running impact-driven/profit with purpose businesses. On another note, I’ll be back in full swing with new episodes for The Toxic Fox by the end of July.
Until next month…
Thank you for your continued support and if buy a ticket to the July Moral Fairground event, please come and say hello.
